Inspired by my daughter-in-law and her mom, who made their own detergent, put it in cute containers, and gifted it as a thoughtful Christmas present, I was motivated to try it myself. In this video, Katie and I go through the steps of mixing the ingredients to create our own batch of detergent. I’m using the scent narcissist, which smells fabulous. Here’s the recipe so you can make your own.

Laundry Soap

  • 2 cups Washing Soda
  • 2 cups Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Epson Salt
  • 6 caps full Scented Oil

Mix well.

Tips:

👕 Tackle this project outside as it does release a good bit of dust.

👖 Choose a bowl to use only for making detergent. The scented oil will leave a scent in the bowl/container. I used a Tupperware storage container.

🧦 Add your scented oil to dryer balls for added fragrance.
